Eagle Scout Court of Honor Cake

My son’s Eagle Court of Honor was this past weeknd and I wanted to make a very special cake for him.

I have to tell you I learned A LOT from making this cake. Internal structure being the very first thing. I have made a couple of two tier cakes where the small dowels I used were plenty strong enough. Turns out for this cake they just weren’t. This has been the first weekend of really hot weather here in Oklahoma and the lack of internal structure paired with the heat made for some not ideal cake transporting conditions.

So here’s how it looked when we got it all set up.

The stars said  Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, Reverent (the words from the Scout Law). It was a great party!

I love this picture my sister took of the table :)

Great cake, and congratulations to your son (and you too!). I have 3 Eagle Scouts, so I know the dedication and commitment it takes from the whole family.

  3. Visiting via Addicted 2 Decorating. I absolutely adore your cake. Congrats to your son on his wonderful achievement. My hubby is a den leader to 9 cubs. :)

I created several spring projects on my blog this week. Please stop by if you have a moment.

    Have a lovely Easter weekend.

WOW! I love how well you executed the theme. It’s beautiful, but still “boyish”. It looks fantastic, you did an amazing job. I bet he was just as proud of you as you are of him!

  6. Beautiful cake and so appropriate! Congratulations to the new Eagle Scout (and to mom!).
